The Società Acque Minerali Cervarezza (Cervarezza
Mineral Waters Company - Samicer) was born is 1935 from
an idea of several residents of the area and industrialists
from Reggio Emilia. The therapeutic and health qualities
of the mineral waters of these springs, located 1200
meters above sea level on the north-east side of the
Monte Ventasso, were known since ancient times, and
during the Middle Ages they had become a rest and refreshment
area for the many pilgrims crossing the Appennino Tosco
Emiliano (Tuscan-Emilian Apennines) going to Rome.
It's during the '50 that the idea becomes an industrial
project.
